How you will make an impact As the Senior Director, Corporate Development you will play an important role in executing the companys strategy to be a leading consolidator in drug delivery technologies. The Senior Director is a senior member of the team responsible for the companys strategic transactions, including acquisitions, new technology licenses and collaborations. This position reports to the Chief Business Officer. In this role, youll have the opportunity to: Develop and drive M&A corporate strategy Work independently and in collaboration with internal groups to provide detailed economic analyses of new opportunities (e.g., market research, business intelligence, competitive analysis, development plan, commercial forecast, NPV analyses) to inform business decisions. Present business rationale, analyses, and proposals to senior executives Coordinate the evaluation and diligence of new opportunities endorsed by the Strategic Investment Counsel across multiple functional areas including Research, Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, Intellectual Property and other groups Develop deal concepts and negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements in collaboration with corporate legal and finance groups Participate in and potentially lead the deal process from first contact with potential partners to execution of agreements Establish an extensive network of strong and trusting relationships with prospective collaborators, advisors, and industry investors with the goal of expanding the external perception of Halozyme as a partner of choice To succeed in this role, youll need: Minimum of Advanced degree in Life Sciences or MBA with minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry (a combination of education and experience may be considered) Extensive track record in identifying and evaluating deals and driving transactions. In depth understanding of drug discovery and development process. Ability to understand and evaluate the applicability and quantify the opportunity presented by specific drug delivery technologies under evaluation. Advanced skills and experience structuring and transacting large acquisitions and complex licensing agreements. Track record of leadership role in multiple successful transactions Deep skills in conducting valuation analyses. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences and executives. Deal sheet demonstrating leadership in identifying and evaluating deals, driving business decisions and negotiating complex arrangements. The most likely base pay range for this position is $240K – $360K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individuals exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
