The School of Social Work invites applications for two (2) vacant tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant and/or Associate Professor to commence in the fall semester in 2024.
The School of Social Work is recognized for its foundational work in competency-based social work education at the bachelors level which includes an innovative 2+2 program where, in partnership with rural and Tribal colleges across the state, students complete their junior and senior years remotely through the school and are able to earn a BSW while remaining in their community. The School of Social Work also houses an innovative MSW program grounded in an advanced integrated practice model. This approach is premised on the inseparability of individual struggles and social issues such as poverty, discrimination, oppression and social injustice. Our MSW program is offered in both face-to-face and asynchronous online modalities. In addition, the school will be launching a synchronous online Advanced Standing program in the Summer of 2024.
All programs strive to prepare students as practitioners, community leaders and scholars able to address the complex demands of the 21st century social work. The school is committed to preparing students at both the bachelors and masters levels who will uphold social works responsibility to disrupt systems of oppression, employ critical thinking skills, center and anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice and embrace multiple forms of knowledge that promote the dignity and worth of clients.
The School of Social Work is growing with the additional of online options at the Masters level and continued strong enrollment in our BSW campus and distance programs. These programs help us respond to the workforce needs of our state and region. The school relies on our small yet dedicated faculty to support intentional program growth that maintains integrity in the curriculum while remaining student centered. As such, successful candidates for this position will be committed to academic leadership experience and commitment in application materials.
