JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of Education is searching for an individual to serve in the capacity of a full-time field experience supervisor for our central region cohorts in the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 academic semesters. This is a term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Position responsibilities will include (1) observing cohorts of up to 23 students/cohort in schools within a 70-mile radius of University Park, (2) conferring with mentor teachers, (3) assessing student work, (4) attending monthly supervisor meetings at University Park, (5) conducting a weekly seminar for your cohorts of students, (6) adhering to course syllabi provided, (7) holding three-way assessment conferences with each student and mentor at mid-semester and at the end of the experience, and (8) recommending a final grade for the course.
Either certification in elementary education or similar field or certification as a school administrator is required; Five (5) years of successful teaching or administrative/supervisory experience in basic education and experience in supervising student teachers are strongly preferred.
