The high level:
Reading Partners is seeking a Corporate Partnerships Manager (CPM) to build, manage, and deepen our organization-wide corporate engagement model, including high-profile and complex partnership opportunities. This is critical for Reading Partners fundraising and external engagement strategy. The ideal candidate will actively steward and renew corporate partners while acting as a liaison between external partners and Reading Partners programmatic initiatives. The CPM is a member of the national development team and collaborates with counterparts from our community engagement, program, and marketing teams. Additionally, the CPM will work in close partnership with regionally-based development teams to create national-regional corporate partnership opportunities.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager (CPM) on our national development team plays a crucial role in identifying and researching corporate funders, crafting compelling engagement packages, supporting fundraisers with pitches, and overseeing corporate partnership projects as the liaison between partners and our internal staff at Reading Partners. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working closely with the CEO, the CPM will have the opportunity to utilize our proven literacy program to build a robust corporate engagement model, driving both funding and visibility for Reading Partners. We seek a collaborative, mission-driven, and entrepreneurial professional with experience in securing, leveraging, and renewing corporate partnerships for high-growth organizations.
What youll do:
Proactively seek, nurture, and manage relationships with multiple corporate partners to secure funding within the range of $1.5M-$2M.
Manage the entire lifecycle of corporate partnerships, including prospecting, soliciting, onboarding, tailored engagement, implementation, reporting, and renewal.
Foster excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration with internal and external teams for successful partnership implementation.
Represent Reading Partners by attending partner/prospect meetings
Develop strategic partnership opportunities to support Reading Partners programmatic efforts.
Co-develop and lead persuasive corporate pitches and proposals highlighting the impact of partnering with Reading Partners’ national and regional markets.
Strengthen funder relationships by enhancing engagement and awareness of Reading Partners strategic priorities, particularly focused on expanding access to critical literacy support for students nationwide.
Create engaging and creative corporate partnership recognition programs in order to celebrate and advance the partnership, including, but not limited to, storytelling, media engagement, and other recognition strategies.
Serve as an expert within the national development team on corporate social responsibility and workplace volunteerism.
Collaborate with Regional and Organizational Leaders:
Support the organizations network of regional development teams by creating or collaborating on materials to assist in regional corporate engagement efforts.
Create opportunities to learn and collaborate across departments to source strong cases for support to present to corporate partners and to perfect organizational storytelling to utilize through corporate partner engagement.
Work closely with regional development teams to identify and pursue joint corporate partnership opportunities. Foster collaboration and partnership to maximize resources and funding outcomes.
Seek professional development opportunities and relevant communities of practice to remain current on evolving industry trends and language
How youll do it:
Leadership & Management:
Collaborate and lead team members to consistently surpass aggressive fundraising goals. Provide ongoing coaching, growth opportunities, and stretch assignments to develop future fundraising leaders within the organization.
Partner with the Chief Development Officer, national development leaders, regional development teams, and the community engagement team to develop and implement a comprehensive regional-national corporate engagement plan. Establish shared fundraising goals and develop a corporate engagement program that seamlessly aligns with our programmatic objectives.
Relationship Development:
Externally, demonstrate experience in external relations and relationship development. Regularly deliver convincing messaging and tailored experiences. Demonstrate genuine joy in connecting with donors and all external stakeholders. Develop deep relationships with champions and donors that result in increased giving and networking.
Internally, establish highly collaborative relationships with all team members, particularly Regional development staff.
Demonstrate a hunger to learn, grow, support, and add value. Regularly seek to understand all aspects of our program model to convey externally.
Revenue Generation:
Demonstrate a growing ability to conduct research, prospect, and drive ongoing development efforts in rapidly growing organizations. Demonstrate excitement to steward and leverage relationships to support regional and national growth.
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and creativity that leads to the integration of new ideas and, ultimately, the strengthening of a relatively new funding stream for Reading Partners.
Demonstrate an ability to close gifts and successfully make asks that advance Reading Partners mission.
Communications:
Serve as an ambassador of Reading Partners. Deliver compelling written and oral communications to promote the organizations mission. Convey complex ideas through brief, simple, yet striking materials.
Quickly establish credibility when promoting Reading Partners to external audiences. Demonstrate a high degree of comfort and poise with donors and Board members.
Internally, demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate donor strategy, progress and next steps across a team of colleagues and supporters involved in fundraising. Regularly maintain the portfolio management system (SalesForce) with all relevant donor information, specifically action items and historical data.
Strategic Thinking:
Demonstrate an ability to devise innovative fundraising plans, create action steps, and mobilize many stakeholders to achieve fundraising goals.
Build sustainable plans to maximize institutional giving, meet goals and significantly grow funding.
About you!
Youll be successful in this role if you:
Show a minimum of five years of professional and progressive fundraising experience, specifically with corporate engagement programs.
Are an energetic professional with a demonstrated track record of building and maintaining successful senior stakeholder engagement plans.
Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills appropriate to engage a senior external audience.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Have experience navigating high-level stakeholders to problem solve and lead through complexity.
Are a self-starter with a focus on results and the ability to persevere through challenges to reach goals.
Have a positive, “can-do” attitude.
Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience. This position is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with compensation between $69,275 – $81,500 annually.
The pay range for this position is contingent on geographic location. After submitting an application, candidates who move forward in the hiring process are provided with the salary for their geographical location.
