Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.
Grand Canyon Universitys Online Instruction department is seeking full time faculty candidates to teach the following Chemistry course and online lab:
CHM-101 Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry
The position entails a hybrid work arrangement, involving both remote work and a requirement to be present on-site at GCU’s primary campus situated at 33rd and Camelback. A minimum of four scheduled days per month will be spent at the campus. Mondays will be required to be on campus.

What will you do:
Facilitates online classes, teaching subjects which are relevant to the learning needs of the students and facilitates engaging individual and group instructional activities.
Mentors and advises students in concert with the graduation team members.
Assists students in achieving course objectives and learning outcomes.
Provides qualitative, holistic feedback to support the numerical score awarded for assignments.
Compiles, administers and grades examinations meeting prescribed deadlines.
Remains current in field(s) of expertise through ongoing, continuous learning; fulfills required faculty development sessions.
May actively participate in department, college and university committees.
May participate in research activities and/or collecting and analyzing data.
May participate in other administrative tasks as necessary, including preparation of reports.
Acts as a course lead, providing guidance and mentorship to GCU’s online adjunct faculty teaching the same classes.
Acts as a course lead, collaborates with our curriculum design team to ensure alignment and coherence in course delivery for GCU’s online adjunct faculty teaching the same classes.
Education and Experience:
Masters degree in the field of expertise including a minimum of 18 hours in the teaching area.
Able to pass pre employment background investigation.
IF ROLE IS TO TEACH FOR DOCTORAL COLLEGE: Doctoral Degree required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Depending on discipline/college, may require active licensure in field.
3 years higher education teaching experience preferred.
