The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student-Quality Engineering for John Deere Waterloo Works (TCAO) located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

  • Assist team in identifying issues/opportunities for improvement and proposing resolutions
  • Gather, review, and analyze information
  • Produce a variety of correspondence and reports in support of department processes, including monthly reports/dashboards in Excel, Business Objects, Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Assist with administration of Corrective Action System
  • Administer and maintain Quality SharePoint and associated Websites

This position is available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Manufacturing Engineering or related field; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited college/university local to Waterloo, IA
  • Graduation date of May 2025 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly
  • Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly
  • Must be able to complete work and assignments remotely
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on an as needed basis year-round
  • 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc
  • Familiar with Project Management processes of establishing project scope, identifying resource needs, setting milestone dates, and tracking progress
