Job description: The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property.
We are looking for a strong Senior Manager to join our newly established Privacy Enablement team to support ResMeds mission to improve the quality of life of our patients, customers, and partners. This Senior Manager is responsible for enabling product management initiatives for the Sleep business primarily in the North America region (NAM) while leading and collaborating with the global privacy team for projects outside the NAM region.

Lets talk about your responsibilities:
- Privacy Business Partner for NAM–based projects across all divisions;
- Lead global initiatives pertaining to the Sleep & Respiratory Care business;
- Serve as internal advisor to the business on highly complex privacy use cases involving HIPAA, CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy, EU AI regulation and similar laws;
- Lead a team of experienced privacy professionals to deliver first-class privacy advice;
- Join the Privacy Enablement leadership team and help execute on the vision for Privacy;
- Partner with the business to implement and operationalize privacy by design principles on cutting-edge digital technology topics;
- Consult, support, and advise the business by creating DPIA, risk assessments, negotiate DPAs and report on privacy risk and compliance;
- Update privacy notices, internal privacy policies and related documentation;
- Establish and enhance effective and efficient privacy services;
- Drive operational efficiencies across processes that intersect between the Privacy Enablement, Privacy Governance and Privacy Technology teams, the Information Security Team, Data Governance, Government Affairs, Procurement, and Legal teams;
- Collaborate across privacy teams in other regions (EU, Asia Pacific and Latin America ), Information Security Team, Legal, Compliance, Data Governance, Government Affairs, Regulatory, and Procurement, and others to streamline compliance processes that may intersect between each other; and
- Serve as an escalation point to assist with external privacy inquiries from the sales, marketing groups, customers, devices and ResMeds apps users.
What are the qualifications and experience we are looking for?
- 5-10 years of experience in privacy within digital health solutions, information technology, risk management and/or compliance;
- Bachelors degree in business administration, law, computer science, or a related discipline. A JD is ;
- Privacy Certified CIPP/E/US, CIPM certification(s) and/or CHPC preferred with evidence of continuing professional development in privacy;
- Solid understanding of privacy laws (e.g. CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GPDR, ePrivacy, etc.);
- Experience in managing high performing teams;
- Experience driving privacy by design in areas such as use of apps and mobile applications, biometrics, and data analytics, etc;
- Experience working in a highly regulated and/or audited environments;
- Experience of the operational application of privacy law such as data subject or consumer requests, handling data incidents and breaches, supporting product development, preparing, or advising on privacy impact assessments, legal basis, and legitimate interest assessments; and
- Experience in the connected health or medical technologies industries is a plus.

- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
- Solid presentation skills. Good working knowledge of power point, excel, and other tools;
- Ability to work well under a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities and projects;
- Works well with ambiguity and changing business environment;
- Technically savvy. Experience using OneTrust, JIRA, Asana, MS Teams, Slack, and/or related tools;
- Lean six sigma belts or similar training, process improvement a plus.

This is a US-based position. Candidates able to travel regularly to our beautiful headquarters in San Diego, California.

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidates geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
Subject to the absolute discretion of the company, this role is eligible for an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance.
At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is:
$160,000-$240,000 Annual
For remote positions located outside of the US, pay will be determined based the candidates geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
