The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Hotel will create and drive strategic sourcing efforts for a portfolio of hotel operational spend categories (e.g., linens, paper supplies, galley, and dining supplies (non-food), furnishings, uniforms, etc.). They will analyze spend, be in tune with industry and supplier trends, develop effective strategies around optimal sourcing opportunities that deliver value creation, provide innovation, drive savings, increase efficiencies / level of service, assure supply, and mitigate supply chain risks. The ideal candidate must have hotel and strategic sourcing background in order to be considered.
This position will develop a strategic road map for the hotel portfolio utilizing a data driven approach to decision making. They will utilize spend management best practices, tools and techniques in the development and implementation of this integrated strategic sourcing road map to assesses the overall opportunity within the category and engage stakeholders with facts and data.
The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Hotel will utilize a 7-step strategic sourcing process that includes but is not limited to a rigorous market analysis, supplier risk analysis, and baseline spend analysis, to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that may include RFP execution, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and implementation and monitoring of source recommendations.
This position will work closely with various functional hotel stakeholder groups at the VP and SVP level, across the Brands (operating lines), as a strategic partner who listens to understand business needs; provides expertise in effective strategy development, spend management, analysis, and negotiation; and maintains focus on project timelines and deliverables to ensure business goals and objectives are met. This role requires someone with leadership experience, business savvy, and the ability to influence spend decisions.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- They lead, develop, and implement an integrated strategic process across their assigned category or categories. This role will work with CCL stakeholders, Corporate and sister brands to identify strategic sourcing opportunities that effectively leverage our size and scale to deliver a competitive economic advantage while maintaining or improving quality and service levels. As needed, this role will develop a deep spend analysis by commodity, vendor and/or SKU to develop opportunities including an overall sourcing strategy.
- Manages Strategic Sourcing Initiatives utilizing a 7-step strategic sourcing process (including but not limited to a market analysis, supplier risk analysis, baseline spend analysis, RFP execution, formal negotiation strategy and plan, contracting and implementation and monitoring of source recommendation). They negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts on behalf of Carnival engaging with suppliers at the COO and CEO level.
- Manages Contracts and Key Supplier Relationships.
- Engages and collaborates with Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) stakeholders, Corporate and sister brands. This position will be responsible for managing the category portfolio and have significant spend oversight in range of $100 – $200M in Opex/CapEx. This involves a) Developing and implementing multi-year growth plans for their categories or business units; b) Commercial awareness and continuously managing trends and gaps in the market that impact their category and in turn the companies supply chain; and c) Managing suppliers to ensure flow of products/services to company is unhindered.
- Delivers Results to Performance Goals and Measurement including but not limited to hard savings, cost avoidance, supplier diversity and sustainability.
REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Hospitality or other applicable discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years relevant experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives utilizing best practices category management methodology (six- or seven-step process) with expertise in influencing business strategy and supplier relations.

- Strong knowledge of contracting (negotiating business terms and scope writing
- Aggressive go getter, driven, capable of working with little supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; champion of change management; strong planning/project management skills.
- Uses quality management skills to ensure all procedures and work activities conform to work specifications and standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
Licenses & Certifications: CPSM or CPM preferred but not required.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: Less then 25% travel
Travel Type: Shore based
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s base salary is $75,900 – $110,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
